The fares for these shatabdi type trains to Surat from Bandra / Vasai Rd are very very high. There is distortion in fare structure within these train also.
The fare from Vasai Rd to Surat is 370/- as against fare of Rs. 410/- from Virar to Surat in this spl train starting from Bandra.
Look at this also :-
Virar to

Surat (in Bandra-Surat Shatabdi) >> Rs. 410/-
Virar to Surat (in Vasai Rd -Surat Shatabdi) >> Rs. 365/-
Vasai Rd to Surat (in Vasai Rd - Surat Shatabdi) >> Rs. 370/-
Who will spend such exhorbitant amount ? Are there any food / snakcs facilities provided in the train like in Shatabdi .
From all counts, the fare structure would go against the favorable response of the train and in this one month experimetal period only the Rly would incur revenue loss for low occupancy and would eventually be closed after one month period and seems that they will not be regularised at all.
These short distance trains would be converted into Jan Shatabdis so more passengers can take lower fare benefit for the purpose of travel.
WR ought to have fixed fares at least in comparison to Shatabdi train fare structure and also exclude cost of all services which are provided in Shatabdis and would not be provided to that extent in these trains.
Only emergency passengers would take this train and not the public at large.

Yes this is the right answer. The fare difference is due to the food served during the journey. Dont make it a issue.
you can check this for 2005 NDLS KLK Shatabdi Exp (Fare is 450 for CC)
but for 2006 KLK NDLS Shatabdi Exp ( Fare is 465 for CC )
also check for
2012

KLK NDLS Shatabdi Exp ( Fare is 535 for CC)
2011 NDLS KLK Shatabdi Exp ( Fare is 465 for CC)
Here you can see the diff while the trains are running on same route, earlier Me, Mr Hetul & Mr Murli Discussed on this issue. Actually Mr Hetul Booked a ticket for one passenger for 2005 & 2006 and he noticed the difference. He asked me and I asked the answer Mr Murli then we decided to mail the matter to IRCTC and we get the answer mail from irctc that this difference is due to the food cost served in trains. In night train you will get the dinner also and it costs higher.
I think now the whole picture is clear to every one.
further discussion welcome on the issue.
Regards :)

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
