The Rating is a subjective measure of that member's "experience". It is NOT an objective compilation of what is or is not available at the train or station. It provides the member's own "subjective perspective", what they "feel", and what their "personal opinion" is.
.
For example, just because plenty of Porters are available at the station or if Retiring Rooms are available, the station will NOT necessarily get a "Good" rating. If the Porters were rude, dropped luggage or charged excessively, the Rating is expected to be poor by that member (with...
more... further details provided in the box). Some other member may have had a good experience with the exact same Porters. So he will rate Good.
.
If Retiring Rooms are available at the station, but in poor condition or always packed, it may rate Poor. If no Retiring Rooms are available, but plenty of cheap accommodation is available outside, then the station may still rate "Excellent". The Details box will have more information regarding the reason for the Rating.
.
A member may have a better experience at his Home station since he knows the local language and customs, and so may mark "Excellent" for transportation. But, if an incoming passenger is treated rudely or fleeced by local auto drivers outside the station, then he should come home and give a Poor along with details.
.
Members are expected to Rate trains and stations as per their OWN individual personal experience, not by whether some facility is "available" or not.
.
Thanks.
