Good news for people travelling from Bangalore to Kolkata, provided one has time to spend at leisure - Where the 3A fare for this train - 12864/Yesvantpur-Howrah SF Express - is Rs.1930/- and almost always its a WL ticket, on the other hand one can try this CHAIN (not exactly) - Tr. No.22884 YPR - PURI Garibrath - Departs from YPR at 22:40 hrs on Saturdays and arrives at Puri on Mondays at 05:55 hrs 3A Fare = Rs.1045/- . Spend the day to visit the famous Jagannath Ji Temple at Puri or even go to the Chilkha lake and return to PURI late evening and then board Tr. No.12882 Puri-HWH Garibrath at 22:15 hrs on Mondays and arrive at HWH on Tuesdays at 07:05 hrs 3A Fare = Rs.610/- Total from YPR to HWH 3A fare = Rs.1655/- only and most of the time one gets CONFIRMED tickets.

Yes. One can even save more, if one prefers to take the 2S class from PURI to HWH by Dhauli Exp.
Time taken is just too huge. 3 nights !!!! That is a lot of travel time. 18464 to BBS and then any night train to HWH would be easier and you get telescopic fare as well. And still get CNF tickets.
Can you please explain how can one go about booking tickets using telescopic fare benefit?
