ALLAHABAD: With no improvement in weather conditions, movement of several trains running on the New Delhi- Howrah route has been effected. Passengers are facing different problems owing to late running of trains. Trains are running late by about six to twelve hours.
Train number 12487 Seemanchal Express, the arrival time of which is about 11:50 am was running late by about 13 hours. Train number 13007 Toofan Express, having arrival time at Allahabad junction 5:05 am was running late by about 11 hours and 30 minutes. Similarly, train number 12382 Poorva Express whose arrival time is 2:25 am was running late by about 12 hours and 30 minutes.

his agony on the late arrival of the trains, Harsh Tripathi, a passenger waiting for Brahmaputra Mail said "I have been sitting at platform number 6 in this cold weather waiting for this train since morning. Had the railway staff given prior information about the late running of trains, I would have also came late. Even the announcements made on the speakers do not give precise timing of trains.
They keep on announcing that the train is two hours late and then keep on increasing the time to three, four and further to several hours." The arrival time of Brahmaputra Mail at Allahabad junction is about 8:30 am and it was delayed by about 6 hours as it reached the junction at about 3:40 pm. Even the VIP train Allahabad Prayag Raj Express, which is rarely late, was delayed by about 3 hours.
Its arrival time is 10:00 am. Similar was the condition of other trains. Train number 14164 Sangam Express was also delayed by about 6 hours and reached Allahabad junction at about 3:40 pm.
Talking to TOI, chief public relations officer of NCR Naveen Babu said "Movement of trains has been effected due to foggy weather conditions and low visibility. Our paramount focus is on safety of the passengers and therefore trains are being plied on a lesser speed. However, drivers have also been instructed to maintain punctuality with the improvement in visibility. -
