What to expect when you are about to travel in first class.
While booking I was very excited when I was asked the seat preference and I happily selected a coupe. But, when I arrived at my coach what I saw was shocking, my coach FC1 was a 1997 made sleeper coach converted into a 2×2 chair car.

They should remove the old coach. It was a long time back (in the early 1980s) I travelled by the First Class (Chair Car) on Flying Ranee. There was no AC Chair car on the train at that time. At that time the First Class (chair car) was new and very comfortable. The other FC was a normal cabin/coupe FC which used to be overcrowded with regular MST commuters. Now the times have changed and the railways should remove these coaches. Other than Flying Ranee, I doubt whether other trains have the FC (chair car) coaches
Flying ranee is the only train with this first class chair car. While booking I was under the impression that it would be a cabin/coupe FC, but some years ago there was a time when flying ranee did had 2 cabin/coupe FC compartments, even some other intercity train also had this FC.Today all of this is replaced by AC chair car or a general compartment for 1st class pass holders.

trains such as bandra surat intercity there is a coach that is dedicated for 1st class pass holders but in reality that coach is just a normal general compartment with reserved for 1st class pass holders painted on it
Yes, its better to opt for CC than FC. Cheaper and more comfortable.
They should rename it in the online booking system as first class chair car(Fcc) as they have written on the coaches
Your point is excellent, but I think the First Class (chair class) is available only in one or two trains all over India. It may not be practical or desirable to change the software for one or two coaches
Else what is the solution. This class can not be clubbed into 2s or cc as it would incur revenue loss to railways.

One should also study how many non-locals/non-daily commuters travel by Flying Ranee. Most people would be aware what the condition of FC is and use the AC Chair car...Also, maybe the time has come for WR to withdraw the FC (Chair Car) coach..

What is this......this isn't anyways FC. Rs. 640.00 odd is way too much for this. I think WR will remove it or refurbish it again as Flying Ranee will have UTKRISHT Coaches soon.
lets hope the definition of 1st class changes from present scenario to something better under utkrisht scheme
when such is the situation then there is no justification for WR to price high for FC
Always Carry a Licensed Revolver/Pistol With you when you Do Journey in this train in both Sides.

Although the train is very notorious for brutal harassment by its daily passholders, carrying weapons for fighting would do nothing except for creating chaos.
Best way is book for BVC SF in place of 12922 and in BCT JP SF in place of 12921 which are very convenient trains for end to end travel till Surat

Just like Daily trains betwn Mumbai-Pune(expect DQ) the one who books a reservation ticket will be will be doing the biggest mistake of his life.
Is this scnerio present in only general class or in even 2S and CC reservation bogies also..??
Regular in general & MST, Even in 2S some times..But not in CC. One can travel safely in CC of Flying ranee....:)

bhai almost har mail/express ka yahi panga hai chahe koi bhi ho... ye passengers kehte h ki daytime me SL general ban jata h,,, IR to ekdum thik karta h kaam, hum passengers hi tharki hote h kuch jo ki blame karna jante h bas, khud harkat krte h galat aur baad me IR pe gussa... #cheap passengers
absolutely true..............the daily commuters up-downers we call have made groups within themselves and they only allow their men to sit

12921 Flying Ranee mostly side at UDN (Udhna) clear for 12955 BCT-JP Exp ,12939 PUNE-JP Exp, 22943 PUNE-INDB Exp and some time overtaken by Con core Rack mostly 12921 late surat (ST) by 15-20 min.
due to heavy traffic of regular up-down passenger dont use this train between surat and mumbai or ready for fight to them also for seat in general couch.
