GOUR EXP - Best train for travelling from Malda to Kolkata and vice versa. Maintainance is good, punctuality is also good. Enjoys decent priority enroute. But gets filled with WL passengers during peak season.

2. RADHIKAPUR EXP - This must be the second choice if one fails to get a ticket in Gour exp. Excellent timings, maintainance is above par, has general quota for Malda. Runs full from Raiganj itself but still one can get seat from Malda also. This one also gets filled with WL passengers during peak season

3. DARJEELING MAIL - The last train with general quota for Malda. People willing to travel in 3rd ac should prefer this train as it has 7 3rd ac coaches. Has excellent late night timing at Malda and early morning arrival at Sealdah, ISO certified train, maintainance is good. Runs on schedule till Dankuni, after that punctuality drops significantly. Runs full with WL passengers during peak season

4. UTTAR BANGA EXP - Another perfect overnight train for people prefering early morning arrival at Kolkata. As Malda has only 16 seats in this train, so book your ticket from Samsi (Rs 15 extra in SL, 35 extra in 3rd ac, 55 extra in 2nd ac). Maintainance is average, recieves decent priority enroute, will not have to face any atrocity of WL passengers. Usually arrives Sealdah by 5.50 to 6.00am at the max

5. HATE BAJARE EXP - good late arrival at Malda but if you want to attend your office, school or college after reaching Kolkata then avoid this train. Has good quota for Malda. Further people can book from Samsi if Malda quota gets filled up. Maintainance is average, often daily passengers boards the sleeper coaches from Bandel/Naihati to Sealdah. This train has general coaches between sleeper coaches, so all sleeper coaches are not interconnected

6. KAMRUP EXP - One of the best overnight train between Malda and Howrah in terms of timing and punctuality. But has only few seat for Malda, even Samsi also dont have much seat. Ac coaches are much better maintained than the sleeper coaches. Runs with WL passengers during peak season

7. TEESTA TORSA EXP - This should the last preferred train from Malda. Maintainance is below average, recieves low priority enroute, even gets trolled by Lalgola passenger from Naihati. Very low seat quota for Malda, can book from Samsi for availing NJP quota. This train also has general coaches between the sleeper coaches

8. PADATIK EXP - Keeping this at the last just because of very low seat quota for Malda and almost midnight arrival at Malda. Overall a good train. Has very low quota, will have to book from Kishanganj if you want to avail NJP quota. Maintainance is average in ICF but has much better maintainance in LHB rake. Usually arrives after 7am morning, so office/school/college goers can avoid this train. Runs with WL passengers during peak season

one of the worst train I've ever traveled.. !! (NJP-SDAH{BDC}). I have no complaint about the punctuality of this train...
but,
this train is LHBfied one. I never experienced so much jerking before while traveling onboard any Express/Mail like this Padatik Express.
