Don't opt for FC class, instead opt for the CC class. FC class is just an upgraded version of 2S with 2×2 sitting arrangement with more legspace and coach is pretty much old with not so good maintainance. Instead opt for CC, whose fare is lower than FC with added comfort of AC.
What you are saying is true, But the chair car version of First Class has one advantage: The number of seats are less, therefore the leg room is much more which is god send for big and tall people.
Agree, that leg space and the coridoor space between aisle seats is more but the seats are not in good condition. Same seats as that of 2S with more legroom. Thats why I said anyday choose CC as fare of CC is lower than FC.

Wo to unreserved pax gate pe khade ho gaye warna seats ke beech mein khade hote to bahut jyada problem hota. Kuch utar bhi gaye thhe jab dekha reserved passengers aane lage. Shayad isiliye booking clerk ne confirm kiya thha ki FC chahiye aur happy journey kaha thha ( written in travelogue)
Actually you are right. The FC chair car non ac coaches must be very old and dilapidated now. My experience of travelling in one was a long long way back in 1978. This was by Western Railways' Flying Ranee between Surat and Bombay Central (now Mumbai Central). At that time Second Ac and Third Ac had not started. Flying Ranee did not have AC chair car. There used to be one FC chair car and one normal (berth type) FC coach. At that time the coaches were new and I found it very comfortable. One had a comfortable seat for oneself, while the berth type FC used to be overcrowded.
Usi cabin ke chakkar mein liya thha FC, but ..... Khair ek baar life mein FC ka bhi anand utha liya. Kya pata kal FC ho na ho, bachi khuchi trains mein hi bachi hai ye class. Ab bas Executive aur Anubhuti baaki hai. Pune shatabdi waala trip hota to isme se koi ek ho hi jaata. CC ka ticket upgrade karwa leta.
If travelling without reservation, try to reach station atleast 50-60 mins before departure time. The seats get filled up quickly as the train remains standing on platform after arriving from Bandra.
This is about SURAT JAMNAGAR INTERCITY EXPRESS.This is about hostile attitude of older/more regular MST travellers hostile/goonda attitude towards other not so regular MST pass holders.
MST travellers have only one 2 class general coach.there may well be more than 500 MST pass holders, between SURAT-VADODARA.

This train regularly makes an unscheduled stop at Maninagar station. But in return journey it does not halt at Maninagar.
MST travellers have only one booked 2 class general coach.there may well be more than 500 MST pass holders, between SURAT-VADODARA.
Its a nightmare travelling for the two houreat.
Some of the MST passholders have made a coterie and do not allow other MST travellers s they will abuse,push,gang up againstdother individuals in this coach.
