Wow, they must have used an optimization algorithm to calculate the worst possible time for arrival at the destination station.

Similar treatment is given to 19204 for 25 km between DAS and DLJ where this train stands at DAS or JA or IGRL for almost 1 hour and then departs for DLJ.
I think it's mostly slack but primarily, due to criss cross of tracks when going from KGP to SDAH side. Only a few trains prefer crossing over towards Sealdah side instead of taking the straightforward route to HWH. Either case, this train will reach easily beyond midnight; not good enough a time still.
Lol, average of 13 kmph for that train. In this Puri - Sealdah case, the problem comes over when trains xing over to Sealdah station and in the process have to cross a lot of lines. The main line from Kharagpur goes straight to Howrah and no EMU or Intercity goes to Sealdah via this route; only a few long distance trains do this and all of them have this slack built in.

I think ER will run Sealdah-Digha biweekly Spl also as is proposed by ER to RB for New train. SER has stopped booking for SRC-Digha Biweekly weekend specials from October 2022
16 nos. Spl trains this year in ER during Durga puja/diwali/chat....SER is running only 1 special train this year till now
SER not at all interested to run puja specials this year it seems. Only 1 puja special till date given by SER.

ER gives importance to ANDUL Stn of SER. All Puri bound special train what ER runs throughout the year gets stoppage at Andul stn.
SER must also give stoppage for all Northeast to South or West bound trains at Andul stn. It can be a important station if done.

It's crew change point from ER to SER. Not applicable for SER to Puri and NE bound.
Only Agartala-Bengaluru Humsafar Exp gets a Stoppage at Andul.
