Yo, I hopped on 22308 from Bikaner to Howrah in 3A on 14.02.2017. Tried their grub and gonna drop a review.

Day 1
Food I got: Veg Biryani for 100 bucks at Merta Road. Rating: 3 out of 10. Didn't even look like Biryani, more like veg pulao!!! No flavor at all!!!!

Day 2
Had Veg Cutlet with Bread & Butter and Ketchup for 50 bucks between Agra Fort and Tundla.

Grabbed Cup Noodles from a vendor for 40 bucks. Rating: 10 out of 10! 😋

Lunch at Kanpur for 150 bucks. It had Rice, Dal, Gobhi and Paneer ki Sabzi, Chapati, Papad, and one Rasgulla. Rating: 8 out of 10

Tried Tomato Soup for 20 bucks. Rating: 10 out of 10! 😋

Dinner between Prayagraj and DDU - Rice, Dal, Chole and Paneer ki Sabzi, Chapati, Papad, and another Rasgulla. Worth 150 bucks. Rating: 8 out of 10.

Overall: Dug everything except the Biryani. Lunch was fire! Local vendors were selling Jhalmuri, Petha, etc. Had those too.

Don't know how much the food quality has changed in the past 7 years, but hopefully, it's better now.

Day 1
Khana Serv Kiya Gaya: Veg Biryani Rs 100, Merta Road par serv kiya gaya tha. Rating: 3 out of 10. Yeh to Biryani lag nahi rahi thi! Lag rahi thi veg pulao ki tarah!!!! Iska swad bhi kuch khaas nahi tha!!!!

Day 2.
Breakfast: Veg Cutlet with Bread Butter and Tomato Ketchup ke sath jo ki Rs 50 me mila, serv kiya gaya Agra Fort aur Tundla ke beech me.

Vendor se Cup Noodles liya Rs 40 ki keemat me. Rating: 10 out of 10! 😋

Khana serv Kiya gaya Kanpur me jo ki Rs 150 ki keemat thi. Lunch me tha: Chawal, Dal, Gobhi ki Sabzi, Paneer ki Sabzi, Chapati, Papad aur ek Rasgulla. Rating: 8 out of 10

Dinner serv kiya gaya Prayagraj aur DDU ke beech me. Dinner me tha Chawal, Dal, Chole ki Sabzi, Paneer ki Sabzi, Chapati, Papad aur ek Rasgulla. Ki keemat Rs 150 thi. Rating: 8 out of 10.

Overall review: Mujhe har khana pasand aaya except Biryani. Lunch bahut achha tha! Local vendors local khana jaise Jhalmuri, Petha etc bech rahe the. Maine wo bhi khaya.

Pichle 7 saalon me khane ki quality me kitna badlav hua, mujhe nahi pata, par main ummeed karta hoon ki sudhar hua hoga.

Food: The catering stuff is handled by MOW (don't know what that stands for, but basically the food people) once the train starts from HWH (Howrah, I guess). They keep selling snacks non-stop till 7:30 pm. They have samosa (pronounced by them as Singara), Dal vada, Paneer Pakoda, Cup noodles, Momos, Aalo chop (potato chop), chips, and stuff like that. Local vendors also come in and sell Muri mixture, tea, coffee, Channa masala, and all that. For dinner, you can get vegetarian/egg/chicken biriyani, as well as vegetarian/egg/chicken/fish meals. For breakfast, there's veg cutlet/egg omelette and bread with butter, and Upma with vada. If the train gets delayed, they'll also start selling Aalo chop, samosa, and Dal vada.
As for the rush, you'll see some daily passengers until Rampurhat/Malda, but after that, things go back to normal. They give this train high priority, apparently.

Khana: catering MOW se hota hai jab train HWH se chali jati hai tab snacks bechte rehte hai 19:30 tak, samosa (Singara unke hisab se), Dal vada, Paneer Pakoda, Cup noodles, Momos, Aalo chop, Chips etc. Local vendors bechenge Muri mixture, chai, coffee, Channa masala ityadi. Dinner mein Veg/egg/chicken biriyani uplabdh hai aur Veg/egg/chicken/fish meals bhi uplabdh hai. Breakfast mein veg cutlet/egg omelette aur Bread with Butter, Upma+vada uplabdh hai, agar train der se chalti hai to Aalo chop, samosa, Dal vada bechenge. Rush: Rampurhat/Malda tak kuch daily passenger dekhe sakte hai, uske baad train normally chalti hai, is train ko uchit prathamikta di jati hai.
