Konkan Railway has, in a press release, said that the halt announcement it made on Thursday for two trains is wrong. Instead of the halts announced earlier, Train No. 02057 Mumbai CST-Tirunelveli Premium Weekly Special will stop only at Thane, Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Shoranur, Ernakulam Town and Thiruvananthapuram. The train will not make any stops in Karnataka.
Similarly, Train No. 02065 Mumbai CST-Ernakulam Premium Weekly Special will halt only at Thane, Madgaon, Mangaluru Junction, Kozhikode and Thrissur.

You please check the ticket availability in Matsyagandha and CST SF from Mangalore.Even tommorows ticket is RAC only whereas you check the availabilty in Netravati or Mangala from ERS,it is WL for more than a month.Definitely,the railways don't find the need for a premium till MAJN.Also these special premiums run very slow(speed in 40s) whereas there are two dedicated SF from MAQ/MAJN.So it is better to serve regions with less trains to Mumbai.Maybe there is a Techinical halt at MAJN(I think railways don't announce tech halts like that).We will find out after the train starts running.

These special trains are supposed to cater to the addl demand in specific routes/ regions during festival/ summer/ puja/ Deepavali etc. There is nothing wrong in specifying MAJN as tech halt-- no loss to rlys and passengers are also clear that they can book till SRR and get down at MAJN withour any questions in their mind.
I agree that Kerala-Mumbai is a high demand route. If you put 10 addl trains also, they will get filled up. I am not against any of these. Kerala has demand and spl trains are introduced every year during summer, puja, christmas, sabarimala etc.

does not mean that Karnataka has no addl demand towards Mumbai during summer, puja etc. Let rlys introduce spl trains from Mumbai to Karnataka towns -- Mangalore, Bangalore, Ballari etc and then gauge the sucess or failure of such trains. Not only in Konkan route, Karnataka gets zero additional trains from/ to any important towns -- be it Mysore, Shimoga, Hubballi, Ballari or Mangaluru or for that matter, any other place in karnataka. SWR which controls major part of KA is not at all (repeat not at all) interested to run any spl train towards Mumbai. They are running spl and premiums only to TN/ KL or to eastern states. CR/ SR which have their spls running through Konkan can help Karnataka passengers by providing some stops. But Karnataka pax are hoodwinked with 'Premium' concept.
As pointed out by you, instead of TEN, this spl can be terminated at KCVL/ TVC. In such a case, one stop can be given at MAJN.
If Rlys feel that TEN has much premium demand, why not they run a premium via Pune, Bangalore, Madurai with the stipulated 5 stoppages at Pune, Guntakal, Bangalore, Salem and Madurai. This will link atleast more geographical area. OR Mumbai - TEN via Pune, Guntakal, Tirupathi, Trichy and Madurai can also be thought of.

you are right now tickets are avbl in RAC but after April 10 onwards you can find that there is GNWL 100 & above thereafter from April 20 onwards there is more than GNWL 200/300 in both 12619 & 12133 so running spl trians on this route will not recieve failure for IR...

I think KR means Konkan Railway means(K-KARWAR n R-RATNAGIRI), but now a days KR stand for KERALA REGION, because almost all trains stop only kerala region instead of KARNATAKA, GOA, MAHARASHTRA region.
Some trains like 22149/22150, 12484/12483, 16311/13612,12217/12218,12287/12288 there is halt in between udupi and Madgaon and also Madgaon and Panvel. Ratnagiri is very famous town Maharashtra Konkan region and also konkan railway division and same thing in Karwar also. Why rail board and Konkan Railway people not taken single risk to stop train not only almost all places in KARNATAKA, GOA, MAHARASHTRA that very helpful all the konkan people

तिरुवनंथपुरम Thiruvananthapuram: Reports state that Modi would like the technocrat and ‘Metro Man’ of India Mr.E.Sreedharan to implement his mission of transforming the Indian Railways. He has already hinted at his plan to upgrade the railways by connecting the major cities with Bullet Trains on the main routes. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Kerala do not rule out the possibility of Sreedharan going as Principal Advisor to the ensuing Prime Minister of India Mr.Narendra Modi.

retired Indian Engineering Service (IES) officer, Sreedharan had proved his mettle by building the metros in Kolkata and Delhi and the Konkan Railway. Modi has been all praise for Sreedharan for transforming the urban transportation in the country. He had even recommended the country’s highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna for the technocrat.
Sreedharan, who is now engaged in building the metro at Kochi and Lucknow, has also lauded Modi for his ability to take quick decisions and implement them earlier. Endorsing Modi’s candidature for Prime Minister’s post in March this year, Sreedharan had hoped that his leadership would hasten the government’s decision making process.
Sreedharan had cited the factory Modi government set up at Salvi in Vadodara district for making metro trains as a good example of his ability to take fast decisions. He pointed out that the factory was set up in a record time of 18 months. Sreedharan lauded the speed at which Modi works if it is ‘development-oriented’ and cited many examples, which make him attracted towards Modi. Sreedharan also said that India needs a more dynamic leadership to take fast decisions in development initiatives, so as to revitalize the economy and its 120 Crore people. More and more development means more and more employment so that the very problems country is facing like poverty, under-nourishment and corruption are eliminated from the society. ”Lets empower people with necessary food, employment and safety so that many of the problems country is facing will automatically vanish” said Sreedharan on an occasion, mentioning Modi has such capabilities to transform the country towards development.
It is not clear whether Sreedharan will take up the task. A major factor is his age. He will cross 82 in June. Sreedharan was not immediately available for comment. However, sources close to him said that Sreedharan was not averse to taking up any specific time-bound projects which are destined to change the nation and brings in development.

SLR coach of 16341 (GUV - TVC) falls apart (floor falls down) while running at Trivandrum Pettah. Again. IR and SR continues to dump the worst and oldest coaches in Kerala. Hope nothing bad happens.
തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ഗുരുവായൂര്‍ -തിരുവനന്തപുരം ഇന്റര്‍സിറ്റി എക്‌സ്​പ്രസിന്റെ ലേഡീസ് കോച്ചിന്റെ അടിവശം യാത്രയ്ക്കിടെ തകര്‍ന്നു. യാത്രക്കാര്‍ തലനാരിഴയ്ക്ക് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച രാവിലെ പത്തിന് പേട്ട റെയില്‍വേ സ്റ്റേഷനില്‍ വെച്ചായിരുന്നു അപകടം. കൊല്ലത്ത് നിന്ന് എത്തിയ ഇന്റര്‍സിറ്റി പേട്ടയില്‍ നിര്‍ത്തിയശേഷം തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തേക്ക് നീങ്ങിത്തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോഴാണ് സംഭവം. ഗാര്‍ഡ് കോച്ചിനോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് വനിതായാത്രികര്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കിയിട്ടുള്ള കോച്ചിന്റെ അടിവശമാണ് പൊളിഞ്ഞത്. അടിത്തറ ഇളകിയതോടെ ഇതില്‍ ഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന സീറ്റ് മറിഞ്ഞു. യാത്രക്കാര്‍ മുന്നോട്ട് മറിഞ്ഞുവീണു.

പൈലറ്റിന് വയര്‍ലെസിലൂടെ നിര്‍ദേശം നല്‍കി. സ്റ്റേഷന്‍ മാസ്റ്ററും മറ്റ് റെയില്‍വേ ജീവനക്കാരും സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി. അല്‍പ്പസമയത്തിനുശേഷം തീവണ്ടി പുറപ്പെടാന്‍ ഗാര്‍ഡ് നിര്‍ദേശം നല്‍കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
ആര്‍ക്കും പരിക്കേല്‍ക്കാത്തതിനാല്‍ സംഭവം ഒതുക്കിത്തീര്‍ക്കാനാണ് റെയില്‍വേ ശ്രമിച്ചത്. തിരുവനന്തപുരം സ്റ്റേഷനിലെത്തിയശേഷം ഈ കോച്ച് വേര്‍പെടുത്തി അറ്റകുറ്റപ്പണിക്ക് അയച്ചു. ഗുരുവായൂര്‍ മുതല്‍ പേട്ടവരെ അപകടാവസ്ഥയിലുള്ള കോച്ചുമായിട്ടാണ് ഈ തീവണ്ടി ഓടിവന്നത്.
സീറ്റിന്റെ കാല്‍ തറച്ചിരുന്ന ഭാഗമാണ് പൊളിഞ്ഞത്. തുരുമ്പെടുത്ത് ദ്രവിച്ചതാണ് അപകടകാരണം. അടിത്തട്ട് തകര്‍ന്ന് സീറ്റിന്റെ കാല്‍ താഴേക്ക് തള്ളിക്കയറിയിരുന്നു. മുമ്പ് ആലപ്പുഴയില്‍ തീവണ്ടിയുടെ കോച്ച് യാത്രയ്ക്കിടെ പാടെ തകര്‍ന്ന് വീണിരുന്നു. വേഗതയില്ലാത്തത് വന്‍ ദുരന്തം ഒഴിവാക്കി. ഈ സംഭവത്തിനുശേഷം പഴഞ്ചന്‍ കോച്ചുകള്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യമുയര്‍ന്നെങ്കിലും റെയില്‍വേ നടപ്പാക്കിയിട്ടില്ല. 25 വര്‍ഷത്തിലേറെ പഴക്കമുള്ള പഴഞ്ചന്‍ കോച്ചുകള്‍ ഇപ്പോഴും റെയില്‍വേ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

This is the second time this is happening. Earlier a passenger train's entire coach got ripped off its base while the train was beginning to move out of ALLP station. TVC division trains are the worst maintained in the entire country. The DRM office seems to be least bothered about maintenance, as are people's representatives.
