Electrification of Bellary – Hosapete – Toranagallu – Ranjithpura (92 Km) was sanctioned by Railway board in 2012-13 at a cost of Rs.139.43 Cr. 69 km of track between Bellary and Hosapete has now been electrified and work is in progress in the remaining section. RVNL is the Executing Agency for the Railway Electrification work of Hospet-Ballari-Guntakal section including Toranagallu-Ranjitpura section. Guntakal-Ballari-Hospet double line BG section is a vital link connecting Guntakal-Renigunta and Wadi-Guntakal section of South Central Railway and South Western Railway. The total RKM is 138. The work commenced in Jan 2018. The cumulative expenditure of the project is Rs.124.73 Cr. Part of the Hospet-Ballari-Guntakal RE project (SCR portion) from Guntakal to Haddinagundu (RKM: 45.01) has been commissioned in February 2019. Sanction for charging of 25 kv AC for electrifying the Bellary – Toranagallu section (33 RKM) was obtained from Commissioner of Railway
Good news and hope further electrification on this route would be completed as per target and run all the trains with eloco
Everywhere (including PR) they are saying electrification between Ballari and Hosapete has been completed. But in reality electrification between Ballari and Toranagallu has been completed. Electrification between Toranagallu and Hosapete is under progress. Electric loco trial run was conducted from Ballari to Daroji. You can see the banner "Ballari (Incl) - Toranagallu (Excl)" in the attached picture for reference
Will help introduce more MEMU trains on route, save commuters along IT corridor a lot of timeThe railway line from Bengaluru to Hosur (50 km) is set to be electrified in 2019. On December 12, Railway Ministry declared that the line, starting from Baiyyappanahalli, will be electrified, as will be four other lines. Railway activists have welcomed the move, which will allow for more Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) trains to Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) trains on the Bengaluru-Hosur line.More MEMU trainsSrinivas Alavilli, one of the activists in the Modalu Train Beku campaign, says, “The electrification is a big plus because it will help in the addition of more MEMU trains and along with other infrastructure like automatic signalling, the Railways will be able to run more trains on the same tracks. We have very few trains on the Bengaluru-Hosur line now due to lack of signalling infrastructure.”Sanjeev Dyammanavar, rail
Idu either Navalur irbeku or Navalgund Road irbeku antha nan doubt
I feel that if doubling is also carried out, it will be more beneficial rather than only electrification. Crossings take a lot of time and due to speed limitations trains take quite some time from station to another. Best example being Bypl to Carmelaram which takes almost 15-20 minutes.
So doubling would be the best way along with electrification
Heard that doubling sanctioned but no visible progress.
As said like Mr Sachin it might be Navalur or Navalgund Road but Navalur is not 30km from hubli or if they consider TKM then its 30km upto navalur as doubled line 15+15. If such they should have mentioned Hospet-Gadag as 85+85 TKM but only RKM 85km they mentioned for RE.
BENGALURU: South Western Railway’s
appears to have run into several problems.
While doubling work on
(22.9km) is awaiting the railway board’s sanction, the Birur-Shivamogga (60km) section has been
Doubling from BYPL till Yelahanka and YPR Channasandra is a very crucial route.
Hope SWR completes at the earliest. Lots of trains get delayed or are made to wait for long durations for being received and dispatched
BYPL (CSDR) - YNK is already completed. SWR dont see the need of double line b/n BYPL to CSDR.
But looking at the attached status update of projects, looks like only Arsikere-Tumkur stretch has got a decent completion percentage status. Most others looks like will take another 2-3 years more
Even ynk pks doubling is in good progress
The South Central Railway (SCR), which has set a scorching pace in electrification of railway lines in the last couple of years, intends to continue the work with an aim to completely electrify the entire track of about 6,000 km within the next three years.
General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav said 600 km was electrified last year and the same length would likely be completed before the end of this financial year.
“We have done about 3,000 km of electrification so far. This year, we have finalised technical bids for about 800 km,
Yes btn hitnal to bannikoppa about 30kms OHE PIT POLES WORK GOING with fast ..yesterday I saw ..I'll update with photos later ..
If proper funds are given to rvnl then they will execute the work very fast.
Is the Toranagallu-Ranjithpura section also slated for electrification? That is the section with all the traffic from the mines right?
Yes. Toranagallu - Ranjitpura will also be electrified in near future. But I don't know exactly regarding physical progress.
Congrats to SCR which is forerunner in Electrification works in our Indian Railways.
North to South and East to western corridors are benefited since it situated almost Centre of our country.
