a two-day visit to the State, inspected the newly built BG track from Agartala to Udaipur, he said. Train service between Agartala and Udaipur is likely to be introduced after Durga puja after CRS clears the track for starting passenger train service.
As per the schedule, the NFR wants to extend the BG track up to Santir Bazar by 2018, Belonia by 2019 and Sabroom by 2010. “We are leaving no stone unturned to meet the target for all railway projects in the State”, he said.
On the Indo-Bangla railway extension project, he said the IRCON has already floated tender to link Agartala with Bangladesh’s Gangasagar railway station.
Although there is no confirmation by when tender process would be completed, it has been learnt that the Railway Ministry wants to complete the project at the earliest.
Land acquisition for the Agartala-Akhaura rail link will start soon with DoNER Ministry releasing funds for the purpose to the State Government.
“The State Government has received about Rs 97 crore from DoNER Ministry earmarked for land of the elevated five km Agartala-Akhaura rail project on Indian side”, said a State Government official. “In around three months’ time the entire process of serving notices to land owners will be done and acquisition of land will begin”, he said.
The process of laying the 15.05 km railway track between Agartala and Akhaurha in Bangladesh will be completed by 2017.

AGARTALA, March 29 - Agartala, capital town of Tripura, would be brought into the country’s BG railway network service very shortly.
After a two-day inspection of the newly-built Agartala-Kumarghat BG track, Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) SK Pathak said he did not find any major problem in the 109 km railway track.

conducting the inspection, the CRS suggested to run BG train with a speed of 100 km per hour in between Agartala to Kumarghat.
On the safety of tunnel, the CRS said there was a little problem in tunnel number II but that has been solved by adopting an innovative plan by NFR authority.
“The 109 km BG track is safe for running BG train with a speed of 100 km per hour”, he said adding that the NFR is likely to introduce a passenger train service by second week of April.
The CRS said most modern signalling system has been used in the newly built BG track.
On the inspection upto Udaipur, Pathak said the CRS inspection could be done by next month itself to pave the way for running BG train.

CRS crossed the Dharmanagar rail station, but CRS Sailesh Kr. Pathak didn’t come out of the train but alert the contractors to take care of the work proper and warned them that such incidents as platform collapsing would not be repeated again.
It’s to be mentioned here that due to lack of proper observation the working quality has become low, said multiple sources onsite. Moreover, many parts of the Dharmanagar railway station, which were constructed long back ,tracks are suffering from lack of maintenance, and employees, authorities have no concern about the determining condition.
