Now, Gujarat will allow only elevated corridors for rly & highways through Gir to save lions
The Gujarat government has informed the Indian Railways and the central government about its policy decision to only build elevated rail and highway corridors in and around Gir and the Greater Gir area. This decision comes in response to the increasing number of lion deaths on railway tracks.
Gujarat government ne Indian Railways aur centre ko apna policy decision bataya hai ki Gir aur Greater Gir area mein sirf elevated rail aur highway corridors banenge. Ye decision lion ke railway tracks pe marte hue dekh kar liya gaya hai.
Mostly Dhasa PIVV stretch will be elevated and GC work of Veraval Talala Visavadar, Junagadh Visavadar Amreli, Talala Prachi Rd Kodinar and Prachi Rd Delvada will be done with an elevated line.
Elevated tracks aur roads hi banage yaha because lions ab Gir se shift ho rhe hai Amreli Bhavnagar for food search. And HC won't given permission for GC for these sections in this region because lions movement will be affected by rail and roads so elevated corridor looks feasible.
