Maligaon (Guwahati), 31st December 2013: Despite clarifications issued to all the media personnel who had contacted N. F. Railway Public Relations officials on 30-12-2013, wide sections of print and electronic media have today wrongly reported about a suspected fire in 12436 up Rajdhani Express on 30-12-2013. The Northeast Frontier Railway reiterates that there was no incident of fire in Rajdhani Express as reported. It was actually a false alarm raised by an alert Station Master of Kaithalkuchi station who had mistaken the red LED light of the Speed Sensor located in the under gear of a coach as a spark of fire and stopped the train. The train was checked at Kaithalkuchi station and again at at Rangiya by officials who allowed it to run after confirming that nothing untoward had occured.
The North East Frontier Railway today clarified that there was no incident of fire in UP 12436 Rajdhani Express as reported in a section of media.NF Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer S Lahiri said it was actually a false alarm raised by an alert Station Master at Kaithalkuchi station in Kokrajhar district."The Station Master had mistaken the red LED light of the speed sensor located in the under gear of a coach as a spark of fire and had stopped the train yesterday," he said.The train was checked at Kaithalkuchi station and again at Rangia railway station of officials who allowed it to run after confirming that nothing untoward had occurred, Lahiri said.
