CHENNAI : As many as eight suburban train services in Chennai-Gummidipundi section will be operated only up to Ponneri for nine days from today till September 27, except September 21. To carry out the track maintenance which involves de-stressing of rails, and welding between Gummidipoondi and Kavaraipettai stations in Chennai-Gudur section, train operations will be suspended from 9.15 am to 11.55 am.
According to a press statement, Chennai MMC-Gummidipoondi local trains scheduled to leave Chennai at 8.15 am, 9 am, 9.30 am and 10.25 am will be partially cancelled between Ponneri and Gummidipoondi, and will run only between Chennai-Ponneri from today till September 27, except September 21.

Gummidipoondi-Chennai trains leaving Gummidipoondi at 9.50 am, 10.50 am and 11.20 am will run only from Ponneri to Chennai from today till September 27, except on September 21. The trains will start as per the scheduled departure.

Gummidipoondi-Chennai MMC local EMU leaving Gummidipoondi at 2.45 am has been cancelled between Gummidipoondi and Ponneri. The train will leave from Ponneri as per schedule. Chennai MMC-Gummidipoondi local EMU leaving MMC at 12.15 am will run till Ennore, while Gummidipoondi-MMC local EMU leaving Gummidipoondi at 4 am, will start from Ennore as per schedule. Sullurpettai-MMC local EMU leaving Sullurpettai at 5.45 am will run from Gummidipoondi to Chennai MMC. 
Tambaram-Gummidipoondi EMU Special leaving Tambaram at 6.50 pm will run till Chennai Beach while Gummidipoondi-Chengalpattu EMU Special leaving Gummidipoondi at 6 am will be partially cancelled between Gummidipoondi and Chennai Beach. Train No.42401 MMC-Sullurpettai EMU local leaving MMC at 4.20 am will be detained at Kavaraipettai and will reach Sullurpettai 10 minutes late, said the statement.

Line Block and Power Block has been permitted between Gummidipoondi and Elavur Stations in Chennai – Gudur section for 6 days from 27th to 1st September 2018 and for another 4 days from 6th to 9th September 2018 from 00.50 hrs to 05.40 hrs, for Track Maintenance Work including welding and de-stressing of track/rails.
