Don't know why 12189/90 Mahakoshal Exp has such bad repute amongst passengers. Personally, I think specially after LHBfication it is the best train from JBP to NZM after MPSK considering comfort, timings and occupancy.
Option 1 is very good JHS 23:10 ( between GT and Goa ) can reach NZM by 4:50..
Option 2 seems mess from JHS

No bro, thats really too much early, even that time ola uber charges nearly double from NZM to Karol Bagh 😒 Still Its my most fav train ❤️
Even that time also it used to reach NZM around 4 and 4:30am sometimes while even having ICF..
I personally feel 02181 should get extended upto NDLS as terminating station and MPSK should get a slot of deprting around 9:00-10:00 pm from NZM with speedup and duration round upto 12:00-12:30 hours in reverse TT like its counterpart to provide a better overnight connectivity and Shreedham should get LHB asap and upgraded MPS of 130kmph in ET-NZM along with removal of some unnecessary stoppages.
That overtake might be an exceptional situation.. else Mahakoshal alwayas remains ahead of Bundelkhand Exp.
Also, what do you mean by unwanted halts ? I guess all of these are decades old halts and giving good connectivity to the respective regions .
