The Railway Board gave the green light to extend the Mysore - Mayiladuthurai train (16231/16232) up to Cuddalore Port Jn.

They also decided to run the Mayiladuthurai - Trichy Express train (16233/16234) daily instead of just 5 days a week, and to separate the train set.
