Great initiative. Just make sure not to park these rakes at platforms -- making it easy for people lodged in there to flee. There have been too many cases of people fleeing from quarantine, be it home or hospitals. Also, cleaning and watering staff will need training in safe practices.
Overall great contribution in this fight.

Apart from these, PPE gears for medical professsionals and equipments like ventilators should be manufactured in war footing. Currently, even existing hospitals not having them in sufficient quantity. Heard news earlier that some railway workshops have started working in that direction

Yes, but these ventilators are a while away to be certified for safe use with patients. These people are trying to reverse engineer them. On parallel, like GM & Ford in US, automakers like Tata & Mahindra should be roped in to bulk manufacture them with transfer of technology. This will ramp up production. They can also look at producing more portable ventilators to carry to makeshift ICUs. There is need to enhance production of oxygen cylinders/bottles too. Finally, like Reliance has taken an initiative to produce PPEs in large scale, some other industrial houses should also contribute in any way they can. With railways now having huge capacity to speedily transport almost everything, hope for the best.
