Its okay to change the Terminal to south side (Shalimar) for south bound trains, but additional stops within 12 kilometer (At Santragachi) really seems to be unnecessary for Superfast train, a bad decision from SER.

If you don't have any idea about Kolkta then don't comment.
Shalimar is very difficult to access from Kolkata. Santraganchi has much better connectivity especially to much of Kolkata city though nothing can replace howrah.
And train cannot start from Santraganchi as it is already much congested.

and trains crawl anyway from andul onwards. maximum passengers will board from santrganchi only. santraganchi halt will have no difference on train timings.
