Isse Pune station pe train detention aur congestion kam hone ki ummeed hai. Maldhakka area mein kaafi land hai, jahan yeh expansion banaya jaayega. Azad Hind, Jammu Tawi, Jhelum, Sinhagad, aur Pragati Express - yeh 5 express trains ko additional stations pe stoppages milenge, jaise Daund jaane wali trains ke liye Hadapsar aur Mumbai jaane wali trains ke liye Shivajinagar, Chinchwad, aur Talegaon. Yeh proposal Pune station pe daily 1 lakh passengers ki traffic ko manage karne aur East Pune aur Pimpri-Chinchwad ke commuters ko relief dene ke liye hai.
