Fare badhane IRI par kehna achha lagta hai aur ye demand koi road par nhi krega. Lekin wahi SL fare almost 17-18 yrs se nhi badha. Agar fare ko 500 se 600 kr de to hungama ho jayega. Road par virodh pradarshan chalu. Sach ye hai ki railway earns more in general coaches(upto 300% occupancy) than SL(100%) at current fare. My understanding is railway will bring more AC, more unreserved and AC unreserved (if introduced). It will put sleeper coaches at back burners. Jab sleeper kaafi Kam ho jayega tab fare badhayega uska. This may be long term strategy.

Fare structure increased huwa hai....2bar last 9 years...me. 10 saal pahle ka fare me lagbhag 50% fare increased ho chuka hai upto the distance of 1000km. For example ndls pnbe section ka fare Sl ka 2011 me about Rs 350 tha aaj Rs 510 hai. Aise hi GR ka fare about 550 tha aaj about 910 hai. 3A ka fare near about 1000 tha aaj 1350 hai. To ye kahna galat hai ki fare increased nahi huwa...every year gradually increased karna chahiye...
