** Vande Bharat operating at maximum speed of 130 kmph has much lower journey times or much higher average speed that other LHB trains on the same route with same 130kmph speed capacity and same/lesser stoppages, mainly due to "OVERRIDING PRIORITY ACCORDED TO THESE TRAINS".
** NDLS-Katra VB take 8 hrs against the 11:05/10:45 hrs taken by fully AC Shri Shakti express with same max speed potential.
**NDLS-BSB VB take 8 hrs against 10:20/10:10 hrs taken by Shiv Ganga Express with same stoppages

** The official reason for higher avg speed of VBs i.e. faster acceleration of trainset is a minor factor, especially for trains having limited number of stops. Faster acceleration saves substantial time if train stops at large number of stations/ every station.
** Trainsets should be introduced on priority for trains having large number of stoppages like Chhatisgarh express, Mumbai-Amritsar express etc which have stop at every 25 kms, so that their avg speed may increase a bit and they can keep pace with other trains with lesser stoppages to some extent.

Above shall minimize the instances of trains overtaking and increase sectional capacity making scope for introduction of more trains.

** IR has to come out of the old monopolist mindset and belief about its inevitability and stop the authoritarian style of management where decisions are taken more to suit the organizational culture & employees rather than the prevailing market forces & convenience of customers.
** IR has not changed with the time and continues to think that ac train travel is an ultimate luxury and they can charge at will for any kind of ac train travel.

** about 30 years back, AC used to be a luxury out of reach of common man/middle class.
**Energy inefficient Assembled ACS used to cost 25000-30000 Rs (Rs 1,00,000+ at current prices taking into account inflation) and branded ones used to cost about 50% higher.
**So ac train travel was rightfully a luxury which was availed by riches and warranted much high fares than non-ac fares.
