Piyush Goyal-led Indian Railways and the Odisha government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the redevelopment of Bhubaneswar railway station.

- IR is no longer led by Piyish Goyal, but the new RM is closely associated with Orissa & Patnaik led Orissa State Govt.
- We can hope that RM shall take personal interest in developing world-class rly stn for Bhubaneswar Smart city
- New Rly stn (south of Barang) shall be near to Cuttack ancient capital city & important commercial center. Many trains eastbound trains from BBS/Puri which taking shorter and faster route via naraj and bypassing Cuttack.
