For the benefit and understanding of others:
a) Final Status is to be marked based on the lowest status as displayed after the chart preparation.
Ex:-
A)
Pass 1 (Conf)
Pass...
more... 2 (RAC)
Pass 3 (WL)
Final Status=> WL
B)
Pass 1 (Conf)
Pass 2 (RAC)
Final Status=> RAC
C)
Pass 1 (Conf)
Pass 2 (WL)
Final Status=> WL
D)
Pass 1 (RAC)
Pass 2 (WL)
Final Status=> WL

b) If a PNR is posted while it is Partially Confirmed, then the final status would be based on the final status of the rest of the passengers!!
Ex:-
Pass 1 (Conf)
Pass 2 (RAC/WL)
Since the first passenger is already confirmed, there is no meaning to predict on the basis of the status of the same.
Thus prediction will take place on the status of the 2nd/rest of the passengers having RAC/WL'ed status and accordingly stamping would be based on the status of the latter passenger/s. That is considering the above example, if the status of the 2nd passenger was WL while posting the PNR for prediction, and the final status is:
Pass 1 (Conf)
Pass 2 (RAC) [WL'ed passenger has moved to RAC status]
Then the final stamp would be RAC.
If the final status of the 2nd passenger would have been confirmed, then the final status would have been 'Confirmed'

c) PNR Confirming through any special quota (Other than the original quota as seen from the initial status of the PNR) is to be marked as Void.
Ex:-
Pass 1 (WL, GN)
Pass 2 (WL, GN)
Final Status:
A)
Pass 1 (Conf, OS/HO/DF/DP/SG etc etc.)
Pass 2 (Conf, OS/HO/DF/DP/SG etc etc.)
Final Status=> Void
B)
Pass 1 (Conf, OS/HO/DF/DP/SG etc etc.)
Pass 2 (Conf, GN)
Final Status=> Confirmed
NB:- Even though one of the passenger is confirmed in Case (B) through a special quota, the other passenger has been confirmed in the regular/usual manner. Thus final status would be confirmed in this case.
C)
Pass 1 (Conf, GN)
Pass 2 (WL, GN)
Pass 3 (WL, PQ)
After Charting:
Pass 1 (Conf, GN)
Pass 2 (Conf, OS/HO/DF/DP/SG etc etc.)
Pass 3 (WL, PQ)
Final Status=> WL!!
Hope the above examples helps everyone in understanding the nitty-gritty of the stamping process!!
