We had booked a 3AC ticket (online eticket) for saurashtra janta express BDTS to Jamnagar (travel date 25th March). We were informed that the train will be short terminated at Ahmedabad due to some technical work being carried out in the Rajkot Section.
We decided not to travel by that train as that would have dropped us at Ahmedabad mid night. Hence the option was to file TDR to claim full refund. On enquiring with IRCTC customer care, we were informed that TDR can be filed only after departure of the train and select option "Train diverted and train not touching destination station" and refund will be processed in 15-90 days.

I tried filing for TDR around 6 PM on 25th March (after departure of the train) it was prompting that the ticket is eligible for cancellation. Do you want to continue ? If i had opted for cancellation, i feared that cancellation amount would be deducted instead of refunding full amount.
As per TDR rule, if the train is diverted and train not touching destination station, TDR shall be filed upto 72 hours of schedule departure of the train at passengers boarding station.
When I called up IRCTC customer care today, i was informed that NO REFUND claim shall be entertained as TDR filing period is over.
Request someone to please throw some light on the TDR rules and can refund be claimed in this case?
Whom should i contact in Railways to get clarity on this issue.

If you are travelling this train from madgaon then try to capture the window seat if u have in your reservation
From Madgaon Jn to Londa Jn you got a great views of Western Ghat which is still untouched.
From Kulem to Londa Jn you didn't get any roadway or any village near to railway lines.

Robbery in Mahalaxmi express at Jejuri-Rajewadi railway station
An armed robbery was committed on the Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi express at Jejuri-Rajewadi railway station early Thursday morning and materials including golden ornaments, cash, mobiles worth lakhs of rupees were looted from passengers, threatening them with sharp weapons.
According to the Kolhapur railway police Thursday afternoon, about 10 to 15 unidentified robbers forcibly entered the Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi express and spoiled signal system near Jejuri-Rajewadi railway station.
