As announced by RM yesterday in Baleswar,Orissa Howrah-Chennai 4th line DPR under progress. Soon work will start on construction of 4th line from Santragachi. This is good news and hope the project gets sanctioned fast and work starts on ground.

Waiting for at least a decade... Years ago tender had been released by SER for the 4th line... still waiting, with massive delays and speed restrictions on HWH/SHM - KGP stretch, and trains queueing up on lines one behind another... Most express trains are taking 2 hours for HWH/SHM - KGP run (much much more for the return/down line leg), this despite Andul - KGP being upgraded to 130 kmph post COVID.
