No PR released by ER as of yet . Infact extension period for spl trains of Kolkata have not been notified yet . Wait for official PR
Very nice pictures, but I personally feel, all these station buildings looked better before renovation. Yeah facilities could improve but demolition and construction of new infrastructure is a little too much. Crores of money spent. People would be 10 times happier with one or two more trains than show off buildings, no one is bothered about station premises. a little bit of cleanliness and basic amenities are more than enough. Earlier buildings were a bit of nostalgia and heritage. The red ones are missing!
All those station buildings built post-independence are ugly minimalistic Soviet style with no sense of aesthetics. Glad IR getting rid of them. Cleanliness and hygiene are necessary whether the building is new or not.
