The first phase was initially scheduled to begin on July 24, 2024, but has been postponed due to pending work. The new start date has not yet been announced. The Aqua Line, a 33.5 km underground metro with 27 stations (26 underground and 1 on the ground), is expected to offer 260 daily services, accommodating approximately 1.7 million passengers.
