Due to cold weather conditions, train speeds have been reduced on the Howrah-Mumbai railway route. The South Eastern Railway Zone has issued orders to Tatanagar Station, requiring trains that normally run at 110 and 130 km/h to now operate at 60 and 75 km/h. This is a precautionary measure against fog....

Loco pilots can further reduce speeds during nighttime fog. This will lead to delays for trains passing through Tatanagar, including those traveling to Delhi and Mumbai. The reduced speed is a safety measure as fog can obstruct visibility for loco pilots and cold weather can affect the track and signaling systems. Additionally, track maintenance crews are patrolling the Tatanagar station area at night to ensure track safety. Railway officials are also conducting footplating inspections on engines. Loco pilots are being provided with fog safety devices to ensure safe train operation in fog-affected areas, especially near rivers and lakes.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
