The one thing I Noticed more from past few years is Getting new train criteria is now truly based on politics undeserving cities are getting new trains while deserving one are far behind.For Example A well running SF Between New Delhi to Bhagalpur was converted to Humsafar.That Superfast was very popular and hit among the passengers on that route.But Decision of Converting it to humsafar scattered many people life.
Due to Politics Deserving cities like Bhopal,Nagpur etc are not getting trains which they deserve.Bhopal is fully capable to full a train to cities like Hyderabad,Silicon Valley of India still it is not getting what it deserved.

Fully agree.
Till date there is no dependable SF between Bengaluru and Mumbai. No Premium train either.

Come to VSG and see forget about deserving these guys here still are continuing with 2 slip services to Hyderabad when all over IR discontinued them in the name of safety, even pre covid era one of the most popular weekly VSG MAS weekly express is restored as UBL MAS weekly express citing pitline constraints at VSG and this is coz SWR is yet to commission 2nd pitline at VSG whose construction started more than 2.5 years ago.
Sab politics hai bro kuch nahi kar sakte hain hum ordinary log. Only solution is find some good politicians and get your demands fulfilled and unfortunately current politicians in Goa are only good to drink alcohol and sleep.

Already Bhopal mein bahut sare trains hai toh aur naye trains ki kya zarurat?? Usse accha Jabalpur, Prayagraj side ko naye trains milne ki zarurat hai. Abhi jo naye trains hai unhe ab Bhopal bypass karne ke zarurat hai due to congestion. Plus kuch traino ko Bhopal ki jagah Rani Kamlapati mein halt dena chahiye.
Bhai wo bhot saari trains me se kitni originating trains hai wo bhi to dekhiye. Passing trains me quota nhi milta hai. or wese bhi trains already bypass krna start kardiya h BPL ko or BPL skip bhi hone laga h, lekin iska matlab ye to nhi na ki Bhopal city ko dedicated trains nhi milni chaahie. Same goes for Nagpur, Surat, Kanpur, Kota, Dhanbad ye sab cities bas passing trains pe depend hai, originating trains naam maatra ki hai jabki ye sab cities deserve krti hai dedicated trains.
Yes agree with you. Politics is in total control of IR, what can common man do? I think nothing.
Yes i agree with you, because of politics small cities like godda, and some not much deserving cities like Madhupur, Jasidih, Deoghar , etc getting many new trains every year and some deserving citieslike Bhopal, Indore, Tatanagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata ( Santragachi, Shalimar), Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Mangalore, etc many stations not getting new trains year after year. But what can we do? This is politics and its power. But this is also the vision of our PM to develop small cities and bring it to the level high up. Development is going on all over IR be it modern station, FOB, ROB, FOB, Toilets,...
