My idea is to get a SF between Bangalore and Mumbai. This extended Chalukya is a big hurdle in every move. Either run Chalukya as dedicated Mumbai to Bangalore or take it out of Bangalore, so that we get a good SF.
See the TT between Hubli to YPR. Starting at 1230 it crawls till 2115 to reach YPR, whereas Jan Shatabdi starting at 1345 reaches YPR at 1945!. Why this cannot be speeded up? Just because SR wants to get this train for Thiruvannamalai by early morning, it blocks platforms at BANGALORE. Return direction also, why it should cross Thiruvannamalai before 2300, but block YPR PF for hours?
If...
more... the train is running for Bangalore passengers, it should start from Dadar by 2130 and reach UBL by 1100 and YPR by 1800. Return should start by 0800 and reach Dadar by 0530.
If intention is to get a train from Mumbai to Katpadi, TNM, PDY, then better to run avoiding Bangalore. SR does not run any train in Puducherry Bangalore sector.
Similarly, for Bangalore to Tirunelveli, why can't SR run a proper overnight train? Why should they depend on central railway train, spoiling Bangalore passengers' time and blocking platforms at YPR for hours together in the peak morning hours?
My intention of request for diversion is to get a good SF between Mumbai and Bangalore.
