IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL MEMBERS)
I have seen one thing amongst members is that while they are clicking pictures or videos they stand in a very dangerous position or place like standing close to tracks or standing near door of moving train or any other place which can pose a real threat to their life. Just to get a click please don't take such risky steps. A silly mistake can end your life.Your life is more important than railfanning . Remember your parents and loved ones are waiting for you in your home just to see you safe. And being a responsible member of IRI we shouldn't support such things done by members . If a member does that strict action should

be taken against him so that he doesn't repeat that mistake again. Remember their are people who have lost their life doing such things. Sorry if my words hurted you

We have ALWAYS removed objectionable/dangerous videos when reported by members. Unfortunately, this has not and will not help the situation, when the main incentive for the same is provided by Facebook & Google.
.
Thanks.

I feel we should be more strict on people uploading such videos or pics because Facebook or YouTube won't stop. And majority of viewers come from IRI to see those videos. If those videos are removed or members are given strict warning then this will demotivate them to some extent. But for this we need support from you sir. A notification must be issued against members doing such

Please clearly explain logically the phrase "majority of viewers come from IRI". An average YouTube video has MILLIONS or at least hundreds of thousands or at the very minimum 10,000 views, whereas any such average blog post in IRI gets about 20-25 views!!
.
We should be truly "LUCKY" if the "majority" of YouTube or FaceBook users "go through IRI".
.
We

do remove such posts when reported (whereas YouTube & FaceBook do not). However let's not be totally naive enough to think that any measure on this site actually "demotivates" anyone in the slightest degree, especially when a LOT of money is being made in other places hosting AND posting such videos.
.
Most users who post such videos have tens/hundreds of thousands of subscribers to their YouTube channel, who get immediate notification when a new video is posted. That's how such videos are immensely popular garnering millions of views within days. Maybe if one of those guys is a member here and posts the same on IRI, they may get a dozen more views - and that's not going to "demotivate" anybody. Even so, we do foolishly remove such videos from IRI to supposedly "curb this practice"!!!
.
If you are concerned (and you must be lauded for that), and you want to intelligently tackle this problem, then you must remove the source of the huge amounts of money sloshing around in these places. Maybe appeal to the Railways - who are also busy, BTW, making money through every revenue source imaginable.

Travel SAFE

1. RailFanning does NOT MEAN dangerous pics/videos.
2. Doorplating pics/youtube videos are strictly FORBIDDEN in IRI.
3. Take plenty of food pics and other safe pics.
4. Write human interest narratives to make the pics interesting.
5. Enjoy blogging and travelling SAFELY.

REMEMBER: YOUR LIFE is the most precious thing, NOT RailFanning.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
