SFAnish~ 321 blog postsIs anything going on Malda division? I was passing through Bidhan Nagar Road at around 12 in the afternoon and saw Down Gour Express passing by... Which means it is late by a whopping 7 hours!!?

Why r u terming it as most useless division??
Malda division is the most punctual division of ER along with Sealdah division. Lots of data regarding punctuality % are present in IRI, u can pick any one of them. Malda and Sealdah are always the best in terms of punctuality as oer official document, hardly u will see trains getting delayed here. Also Malda is the 2nd highest freight revenue earning zone of ER after Asansol division. So i would like to know why u r teeking it as the useless division??

1. In reality Asansol is the most punctual division in ER. Trains in malda and sealdah are provided with huge slacks and yet are delayed. Asansol gets much less slack and yet punctuality is ok.
2. Asansol earns most in ER due to Iron and Steel and coal transportation and loading. Howrah and sealdah don't take freights thats why it is second else it would be last.
3. Take out Bhagalpur and Jamalpur , malda div is useless. Howrah sealdah and asansol are the biggest railway stations in the respective divisions.

1. Tracks of Malda division are not 130kmph capable like that of Howrah and Asansol division. And i would like to know which train has been given "huge slack" in Malda division
2. I think u r not well versed with Eastern Railways, that's why u r unaware of the fact that Hwh division has the 2nd highest number of loading points in ER after Asansol division. A large portion of them is in Pakur (stone cheaps). But still freight revenue of Malda division is higher than Howrah division
