It is always assumed that people from/ to Mysore will compulsorily go via Bangalore. This is not correct. SWR MYS division is not connecting it's own territory properly. There are no zero connectivity to Chikmagalur, Chitradurga/ Rayadurga. No proper connectivity to Davangere. Alternate days train only is available to Mangalore (Upto MAJN is in MYS division). All above are within SWR MYS division only!!!.
Railways can run a night train from MYS to Ballari/ Chikmagalur split takes at Kadur. One proper night train from MYS to Mangalore. Thrice a week night train to Panaji via Hassan, Hubli. Thrice a week night train to Bijapur via Hassan, Chitradurga, Ballari, Hospet, Gadag, Bagalkot.
