A Day Well Spent (Wednesday December 19, 2018).
Since last 2 years I wanted to visit this Beauty by Riverside and finally my dream came true.
Went to Lonavala to have some fudges, then went to Karla Caves and finally took a little detour to visit Kamshet Station. The road inside Kamshet Town is really pathetic, the station is around 1 km away from Highway.

approach to Station is basically a small street which can be overlooked by first timers, the parking for vehicles is on the main road beside the station near an administrative building. CR had taken a block on Mumbai- Pune Line as the signal was red and track maintainence was going on with Gangmen. When the Freight approached Kamshet Station a siren was sounded on the Track Maintainence machine and all Workers were instructed to stand beside the machine, regular honking was done by Freight Loco Pilot as well.
A Flooring Work is going on on Platform# 1 (just beside Indrayani River) and there was no proper shelter at that Platform to protect the passengers from rain or sunlight, I think construction work will start on that too very soon. There's an OHE Line just over Platform# 2 (Pic 8)
Although Station is not that clean, it's nevertheless really Beautiful due to it's unique location. There was a Lunch Break of the only booking counter at that place till 2:30 PM so I couldn't get a Platform Ticket even after asking for one. Sadly I could only spent around 1 hour 30 minutes and could spot only 1 Freight Train crossing Kamshet.
I would really love to spend some time at Kamshet during rains after proper infrastructure develops at the Station. For a Station having stoppage of Local Trains, the infrastructure is far too less developed and demand is really high for proper services at decent time intervals. People were seen losing hope for a train to either Lonavala or Pune and going towards highway to take Buses.
