Bhima bridge they constructing for double line capacity? I tough only single bridge they planned for new line going to come. So does they abandon the present Bridge on which trains running ? That's y the works of bhima bridge going so late I think as they need to construct it for double line.
Then they might go for another new double line bridge over River Krishna after Almatti as the present one is also old one. Bridge near holealur and honaganhalli were done during GC so they can be used still longer time.
Yes it is of double line capacity, side by side both. You can see here: /blog/post/3209942 length of pillar is wide enough to have two parallel girder bridges on it. The one which is currently in use is old MG bridge, refurbished for BG conversion during 90's, but same old pillars. Mostly it will be abandoned, just like Kudachi Krishna Bridge.
Krishna bridge in front of Almatti Dam and ParvatiKatti Bridge for Dam backwaters are part of new line alignment happened during Dam construction in 80's. Original British era bridge of river Krishna near Almatti is actually submerged and is behind the Dam now. You can see pillars of the old bridge during summer season, when water level is low. They may go for new double/single line bridge depends on the strength of current bridges now. Both present bridges, one in front of Dam and another ParvatiKatti(Girder) for back waters are of ~30 years old, they are not from British times.

Then krishna bridge will be single only for time being now as railways simply don't spend money on anything now but later another can be built just beside it in parallel and same for parvati katti steel girder bridge.
