Sir konkan railway is a corporation...not a zone...KRCL(Konkan Railway Corporation Limited)..plz. furnish some reliable proof so dat this confusion is cleared..
KR is a zone for all admin purposes although its a corporation headed by MD instead of GM for other zones. It has 760 kms of tracks and 59 stations besides no of bridges and other facilities under its jurisdiction. KR's rakes are those of CR. All KR rakes like Konkan Kanya, Mandovi Express etc have KR CR written over them.
Sir, though appearing and nearly working like a zone, this is not certified zone. I came to know about it through a Sr. Rly. Official during my Interview.
There are apprehensions, which are right. Its a corporation, with its own admin structure and financial powers and Balance sheets like any company.
But, if we refer to Page 270 of TAAG, and if TAAG is considered authority, then there are no doubts.
