Please Introduce New Fast Passenger Between Kannur and Karwar via Mangalore Central. As it is a long standing demand for the passengers between Kannur & Mangalore also Mangalore & North Canara to have a convenient passenger train for office/business hours passenger train between these cities, please introduce new passenger train between Kannur and Karwar. Kannur-Karwar Fast Passenger neeed to start from Kannur at 1PM everday for Karwar, as a connection to Mangalore and Karwar for the passengers from Ernakulam-Kannur Intercity Express(16305), which is arriving Kannur at 12.30hrs. Also, this train will serve as 1PM noon time return office/business purpose train to Payyannur/Kasargod areas from Kannur. As this proposed train will reach Mangalore Central at 4PM, the train can start from Mangalore Central for Karwar at 4.15 PM, it will serve as the evening return Business/Office hour train for South Canara and North Canara areas from Mangalore. Also, this train...

will serve the purpose of Pilgrims and Tourists to Mookambika Temple, Murdeshwar, Gokarna and Karwar from Kerala and South Canara, as there is connection train from Ernakulam at Kannur. As the number of stops of this trains can be between than of Express and Passenger train, the running time can also be reduced. This Kannur-Karwar Fast Passenger can reach Karwar at 21.30hrs, with proposed stops of Valapatanam, Kannapuram, Payangadi, Ezhimala, Payyannur, Trikaripur, Charvathur, Nileshar, Kanhangad, Bekal Fort, Kottikulam, Kasargod, Kumbla, Uppala, Manjeshwar, Ullal, Mangalore Central, Mangalore Junction, Thokur, Surathkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapura, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna Road and Ankola. Existing Thrissur-Kannur Passenger(56603), arriving Kannur at 12.20hrs can be utilized as the rake for this proposed train. This train(Kannur-Karwar FP) will reduce the long gap of 2 hrs and 50 minutes between Kannur and Mangalore, as there is no train from Kannur after 22610(CBE-MAQ express at 11.25 hrs) and 16606(NCJ-MAQ express at 14.15 hrs). The proposed departure from Kannur of Kannur-Karwar Fast Passenger is at 13.00hrs and reducing the long gap of trains from Kannur to Mangalore. In return, Karwar-Kannur Fast Passenger can start Karwar at 3.45AM everday(or 4AM during non-monsoon season) and reach Mangalore Central at 9.15AM, thus serving as office/business hour train from North Canara(Western Karnataka) to Mangalore City. This train can leave 10AM to Kannur from Mangalore(between the timing of 2 regular trains to Kannur from Mangalore) and reach Kannur at 1PM. As there is no regular train from Mangalore to Kannur between 8.35 hrs(SBC-CAN Exp-16517) and 11.45 hrs(MAQ-CBE Exp-22609), the proposed train will reduce the long gap of 3 hrs and 10 minutes without any train between Mangalore and Kannur, as the propsed train(Karwar-Kannur FP) departure from Mangalore is at 10.00hrs. The passengers in this train can go in the 3 connecting trains : (1) 56647 MAQ-SBHR Passenger at 10.15hrs from Mangalore Central, (2) 22609 MAQ-CBE Intercity Express at 13.45hrs from Kannur(or 11.45 hrs at MAQ) and (3) 16306 CAN-ERS Intercity Express from Kannur at 14.35hrs. The rake of this Karwar-Kannur Fast Passenger can be used for Kannur-Shoranur Passenger(56602) which is leaving Kannur at 14.45 hrs, thus alleviating the need of extra rake, as presently the rake of TCR-CAN Passenger(56603) is used for return CAN-SRR Passenger(56602). The worst case, only one rake can be used for the both the trains(Kannur-Karwar FP&Karwar-Kannur FP), if other options are not possible, consdering maintenance and availability of rakes. Also, hardly, there is no other trains on these routes during the proposed timing(for Karwar-Kannur FP), except LTT-MAQ Matsyagandha Express during Monsoon. I request the concerned Railway Authorities to introduce this train for the convenience of passengers between Ernakulam and Karwar

Extra rake is must, as it is used to return as CAN-SRR - passenger. The 3:45 at Karwar is too early to leave.

Yes. I agree. One Extra rake is required to run this proposed train, but not two rakes.
As at present(Monsoon), LTT-MAQ Matsyagandha Superfast Express is leaving at 03:56AM from Karwar and reaching Mangalore Central at 10.25 AM, the proposed timing for this fast passenger from Karwar cannot be after 4AM, as a fast passenger train cannot overtake a superfast express, eventhough 10.25 AM arrival at Mangalore Central is after 1 hour extra time compensation after Suratkal(dep : 9.00AM). So, during Monsoon this proposed train can leave Karwar only at 3.45AM, considering 10 minutes gap between the 2 trains. Also, extra 15 minutes season safety compensation can be maintained during monsoon, if leaving from Karwar at 3.45AM.

During non-monsoon season, the departure of LTT-MAQ express from Karwar is at 02:32 and arrival at Mangalore Central is at 7.30AM. During non-monsoon season, the departure from Karwar can be at 4AM, as around 5 hours are required from Karwar to Mangalore and the proposed train timing is meant for morning office/business purpose time from Karwar/North Canara to Mangalore City to reach at 9AM office time.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
