is the goto site for most people looking out for train timings and etc! Even google prioritizes IRI results first, then backing it up with the 'government owned railway sites'. By virtue of it's first position on google's search results, IRI garners a whole lot of hits often from people who aren't members/regular users of this site. They just tune in to IRI to get the desired results!
As such it should always be the first and foremost priority of IRI to provide accurate and correct information at all costs. The information displayed should be strictly in concurrence to the updates made by the Indian Railways. Any discrepancy would only cause problems to the user who would take IRI information at the face value. Alas the railways don't recognize IRI and often snub at IRI data.
My point is that, while adding those eye catching informations like 'Kochuvelli Trivandrum' and such other popular local names do provide an extra bit of information, however they should be suitably segregated from the main station info so as not confuse the usual 'non user' who may have joined in only to get an information update about the site, or train 'tts' etc.
It would be better if a separate trivia section is added under every station forum where in all the extra information may be suitably added, but the main station reading layout should remain the same, and should strictly display information approved by the Indian Railway sites only!
