A small #TripReport
I am a regular passenger on 13133 from my office to home (BNXR to BWN). Usually that journey passes by without any specialty. But on the night of Friday, 13th march some special case happened which shows us what happens when the traffic controlling does some mistake and fails to prioritize trains properly. I will try to describe the facts and mistakes by the controller point by point:
Error 1: It all started when just after passing DKAE at right time my train 13133 was shifted to the pit
...

line and was overtaken by the SDAH-BRPA Local on the Fast Line. As a result, the track exchange was inevitable and that delayed my train by 25Mnts. on-spot.
Error 2: After the track exchange, my train started gaining speed and was doing 90KMPH. At that time 12321 came from behind and humiliated my train at over 100KMPH on the right side. I haven't seen such a brutal and thrilling overtake in my whole life. It's a rarest of the rare incident and I don't have the proper language to describe this. This may be an error, but an experience of the lifetime.
Error 3: The controller totally forgot to shift a freight to the pit line and that train was standing on the fast line which forced Mumbai Mail to stop. We again overtook her at GRAE.
Error 4: Again track exchange happened and now Mumbai Mail was on our left (I don't know the reason behind it. Grrr., my dinner was getting cold!).
Error 5: My train now ran really fast for some time but again stopped before SKG for 10Mnts and Mumbai Mail again took us on, now from Left (are they joking!).
Error 6: Even 13159 overtook us there and was stopped at SKG to allow 12321 to pass.
Error 7: My train started crawling and again stopped at SKG (I had already been left out of all hopes). But the controller didn't bother to control the Mighty Darjeeling (12343) en-route which came immediately at SKG, trembling the world with it's EMD and was stopped too.
Error 8: Now the situation is a total catastrophe. 3 trains are totally stalled at SKG with no clue when to move. Final result each and every train was heavily delayed to enter BWN. 13133 was worst affected with 1:08Hrs (Now it is 2:00Hrs as per NTES), 12321 got 47mnts, 12343 was 34Mnts and 13159 was 44Mnts. I don't know what they think when they control the trains. Hope they take a lesson from this incident.
In Pic:
1,2,3,4:: 12321 overtaking my 13133 at 100+KMPH when my train was doing 90+
5,6:: A bit smooth run till SKG where my train would be stalled for another 30Mnts
7:: AC coach of 13159 snapped at SKG
8,9,10:: Mighty Darjeeling (12343) stopped at SKG. It's EMD huffing in anger.
Thanks for viewing and apologies for not good quality pics due to darkness and mobile cam.

Thanks. Glad you fine people enjoyed it.
Though I myself didn't enjoy the situation. Reached home at 12:30 in the morning that day. :)

Awesome snaps and interesting narration by you. If your train was late then the zonal controllers will make other trains pass first that include EMUs. My Howrah Raj Exp via Patna was made to give pass to New Delhi - Bareilly Intercity before Ghaziabad after an on-time departure from NDLS. I even remember my Amritsar - Howrah Mail made to stop at Dankuni Jn since it was late and was made to give pass to EMUs and the Varanasi - Sealdah Express... such things happen on the congested and over-stretched North India - East India Routes ;-D

Thanks and it's my honor that you fine people like it.
However, that particular slot was not that much congested. Just before passing DKAE 13071 overtook us as usual. Normally my train picks up a great speed after that (sometimes it even overtakes 13071 back). But on that day everything got messed up [Is it Friday the 13th effect? Not sure :) ]. However, exceptions happen very less number of time and that's why they are called exceptions. :)

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
