New York Penn (Pennsylvania) Station, New York, USA
________________________________
The biggest rail terminus in #USA is right in the heart of New York City and completely underground. Its the Hub for both NJ transit & Amtrak Trains. Its busy and big.
And the station is completely underground like the Subway systems itself in New York.

Penn Station is underground, the Madison Square Garden is right on top of it. Here are the pics.
One has to get down from the 34th St Subway station to reach Penn Station. Its just a block away.
I was in transit from Subway train to NJ transit train to New Brunswick at Penn Station.

Students have the most miserable life in US... Schooling is completely free here. But Come College.. Fees would rip people off,, So Indian students coming here would have to work on the weekends to make some money for their living...Even then it won't be sufficient for room rents itself...

I see a lot of people crib about IR facilities, speed, punctuality, technology,, etc. etc... All these come to us at some price which Indian public cannot afford... Govt. at the end of the day has to collect all these spends in the form price hike or some other direct costs on individuals....If India becomes a Japan with high speed trains,,, the users must earn INR 500000 a month. Is that possible ? Everything relates economy..
Ex: Here in US for an approximate 12 hr travel, AC exec chair car without food costs 8000 INR in US. AC Sleeper is INR 25000. Can Indian bare it within India if we happen to bring these trains there.. Its afterall Just AMtrak not any

high speed bullet train... Accomodation in Acela express costs double these fares because of its speed and technology.
Thats the reality....Stop cribbing about IR....One of the biggest employers in the world with utmost low public transport fares and one of the complex & busy networks in the world.....

I dont think or feel one should just do the conversion and say travel is too costly in western coutnries. It is costly but not too costly.
25K is roughly $300. $300 is on an avg 1/15th a salary of a person and in western countries both husband and wife works so its 1/30.
In India 25K could be the avg salary and affordability will be 1/1 wheras in US its 1/15 or 1/30.

I mean the same sir, For people here (US) its fine because their earnings are also up there.. But for people in India with current earning capacity its high assuming we have these facilities right now in India..
Which means, to enjoy such facilities, we should have proportional growth in earnings too.
Just by bringing facilities to India make us go no where...
Which

means cost of services, which means cost of products, et.. etc.... Everything again boils down to total economy. Al factors are dependent on each other. ...Attached is the fare structure for 10.5 hours of travel.
AC Chair Car $112 one way and AC Sleeper $400

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
