Catching Hussain sagar at kalyan from Borivali with a travel time of 2 hours: Borivali to andheri local slow or fast-15 min, not much rush at 8.50 pm, go out east side to enter Metro station. Take 20 rs ticket to Ghatkopar-15 min ride with frequency every 10 min. Go down the stairs at Ghatkopar metro station to directly platform 3 to get Fast local to kalyan-36 min, if u have time go to platform 1 for slow local - 56 min. DOnt mind the local ticket if you have ticket from cstm to hyderabad. Only be careful about the rush not peak though. Do not choose this route if you have luggage, single bag can be manageable. this way no need to go to cstm to catch ussain sagar
Instead one can take a fast local from Borivali-Dadar=40 minutes......Change from Western to Central pf 6..Get a fast local from Dadar-CST=15 minutes....And directly buy a Borivali-CST ticket
But getting into a local from Ghatkopar at this time is "Next to Impossible" except for sundays
The best train from mumbai to gulbarga/wadi....if tickets for Gangapura/ Gulbarga/Wadi/Chittapur are under waiting lists, then book till Tandur as it comes under general waiting list, tickets would be easily available and if under WL would easily confirm up ( fare would be just Rs.30-40 (sleeper class) more but this will provide you confirmed seats/berths
Traveling towards Hyderabad, you get good food at Gulbarga station (steaming hot idlis) and also at Wadi. Don't bother buying from the hawkers who board before that. They usually serve cold or stale food.
While traveling from Hyderabad to Bombay, the train caterers usually serve hot pav-bhaji. They start with the AC compartments first then reach the 3-tier sleeper coaches.

A lot of daily passengers board the train Solapur onwards and this continues till Hyderbad, though the volume keeps decreasing as you get closer to hyderabad. seen this in sleeper coach. People will take up your seat if you leave for the washroom or to stretch. but will vacate when asked.
