from early morning to night you will always get something to eat by caterers or local vendors. food provided by caterers is good in quantity. but taste is bland. it would be fine for old people but for others ask for salt. For mineral water, ask the caterers they sell "Bisleri" and many other brands.
Avoid "Egg Biryani" onboard and in stations, anywhere (its neither biryani nor even tomato rice - just colored bland rice with 2 eggs) . Vendors where pushing "Egg biryani" in Chennai Central at morning 6:30 AM (!???!!!!)

Boarded this train with 3AC from Guwahati (GHY) to Visakhapatnam (VSKP) on 8th of July 2018 Sunday at 6:20 am and the train arrived 30min early at VSKP much to my surprise since it normally reaches an hour or so late.
The 3AC coach wasn't noisy considering its age.

Better to bring in food from outside or from home for the 1st day especially if you are on an AC coach(low chances of food deterioration)

Did you ask for 50 rs meal? Standard meal is given only if you ask them. They don't tell on their own. On asking they do provide standard meal costing 50 rs.
