Chennai NCJ leaves on Friday, Reaches Nagercoil on Saturday

Not only this weekly has MON-FRI off, it also has atleast a 1 entire day off @NCJ

can any SR Railfan explain why is this the case for Chennai Nagercoil

Even RSA is not there, so this can be converted into Tri Weekly SF... please give your opinion on this.

No sense it just weekly and runs in longer route to connect Vellore to Salem to Madurai Nagercoil sector and there is intercity 3 hrs later to TVM from Madurai.

There should be one intercity from Chennai in morning at 700 to Madurai -Tuticorin/tenkasi triweekly. It will act as afternoon intercity from Trichy at 1230/1300.
