Wait, you really took a trip between Lucknow Jn and Gomti Nagar via train? I remember crossing these stations when going towards Barabanki via MEMU when it used to run on these tracks. Ironically, the tracks are doubled now but the service is gone.
Daliganj has multiple lines and is quite empty since nothing except Sitapur/Mailani bound passengers stop there. So it is easy to park a train there, if Railway wishes to. During COVID lockdown time ~2021, I witnessed many empty rakes at Daliganj and children playing cricket at the platform...

I have done multiple short trips. e.g. ML-BBK, BBK-LBH-LKO, BBK-DAL(BG)+DAL(MG)-ASH walk to LJN, etc etc
Infact, done many CNB-GOY n vice versa trips as well.
Sir, I wasn't asking for proof. I was just intrigued because few people would do such short trips, especially within the same city. But I guess it isn't that rare. Some guy here shared a boarding/deboarding image of Patna Rajdhani that starts from Rajendra Nagar Terminal and there were FOUR deboardings at PNBE itself. Which means folks booked in a Rajdhani just for traveling within the same city. I was surprised that Rajdhani trains even allowed for such short distance booking.
