The regular ticket checking campaigns conducted over South Central Railway to curb Ticketless / Irregular / Un-booked luggage have resulted in detection of 3.37 lakh cases...
Along with fine compulsory jailed for one week to two weeks have to be awarded so as to reduce these regular ticket less travellers.
After these verdict those who are not interested in jail term then collect Rs 1000 per day jail term.

Penalty per person stands at less than 200 Rs, which indicated the squad had been very lenient in imposing financial penalty. Probably minimum possible penalty was imposed in all cases.

3.37 lakh in a month means per 11200+ people. Such a huge number ?
3.37 lakh offenders and a fine of 11.78 Crores in a month is a big amount. It means a potential of about Rs. 140 Crore per year for SCR alone.
Keeping in view the fact that ticket checking campaigns are seldom conducted at a station(say once in a month), the real volume of ticketless travel should be many times higher than the above figure.

if they conduct these drives intensely they can earn much good revenue which can be used to build proper infrastructure.
