What is RSA and SLR in Indian Railways? 5 Answers What is RSA and SLR in Indian Railways? @drparamp2k: re# 205524-0 slr- sitting cum luggage room rsa-rake sharing arrangement @guest: Re# 205524-1 thanks i got SLR but for what RSA is used n meant for? @drparamp2k: Re# 205524-2 Rake means the coaches or series of coaches used by passengers. The RSA means the Rake is shared by two or more than two trains. For example, the Lucknow Chandigarh Sadhbhavna S/F express, on arrival at Chandigarh, departs as Unchahar express to Allahabad. Similarly, the Unchahar express, on its arrival at Chandigarh departs as Sadhbhavna S/F express to Lucknow. This is done to optimize the usage of racks and reduce the idle time of rakes at particular station to mimimum. There are many other examples also. @Tr Ra Fa**: Re# 205524-3 wow thats wat d reason y i lyk this site ppl r too informative .....thanks!! @drparamp2k: Re# 205524-2 u can find almost most of the passenger trians have RSA with others. and sometimes RSA is mentioned in the destination board and sometimes boards of the entire train is changed. For ex Karnataka Express which comes to Bangalore frm NewDelhi after maintanence, all the boards are changed and the train leaves to Chennai as Mail. Similarly vice versa. |
