Hi, about to book a ticket for 9th November. Current status for AC Chair Car is GNWL22/WL18. Should I go for it? What could be my chances?

Travelled by 12113 on 30/07/2014 from ANG to NGP.
The WDM3A that was hauling the rake from Pune had a (hydraulic?) failure just after Daund. Daund had no extra locos lying around. So Pune Shed sent a couple of WDM3Gs. Resulted in a 2-hour delay as 12113 arrived at ANG with 2 WDM3Gs lugging a dead WDM3A. Was quite a sight. All were decoupled at MMR though, from where a BSL WAP4 took us all the way.
NGP was reached after only 20 mins of delay after all the incidences. Quite impressive I...

So I went to the local reservation counter to book the tickets for this train and the booking clerk says that they simply can't allot LB from the system for this train! This when 400 tickets were available!
I further asked him what more can't he book, and he replied that they can't book LB and SLB for this train. He also confirmed the fact with other booking clerks!

Dear rfZ** : That's what I did in the end! Tried booking online and gave SMB as a preference for 2 tickets, ended up with SLB and MB ! You can't second guess the twisted logic of CRIS. :D

Can anyone tell me what a GD1 coach is? What is the configuration of berths? I have a Berth no. 2 in GD1. Is it half a Generator van coach?

Further to my query, I travelled in GD1 last night and it was very spacious, to my surprise. Only 4 berths, arranged in a coupe style; 2 LBs and 2 UBs. All other passengers commented that these are the best seats in GR.
Berth preference not working for this train. Always when I opt SL I get SU and I always get opposite of which I prefer.
I think I agree with you on this one. I always request LB and end up with SMB ! :(
Once I gave preference of LB when there were 560 tickets available and I still ended up in SMB !
