MLN PBE GC update as of 22 Feb 2024, 1- The wildlife department has finally given the green light to cut down trees at Mala railway station, which was holding up the whole project. 2- The Mala River bridge, also known as Bridge number 257, is almost done at 80% and the rest 20% will be wrapped up by 29th Feb. It's been a tough cookie due to it being in the middle of a dense forest where tigers and leopards hang out. 3- Work has commenced from SG to Sandai halt near Mala bridge. 4- The renovation work from PBE to Mala is all done, just some touch-ups needed from Mala bridge to Mala railway station. The final inspection is expected in the second week of March.
