Good to see that its sleeper coach is almost full. A much needed train. Railways should introduce more trains from Shivamogga especially to North Karnataka.

The plus point of 16227/8 is that it terminates and originates from TLGP which means a direct connectivity to SBC for travellers from Talaguppa, Sagar Jambagaru and Anandapura whereas to catch the other trains originating from SMET they have to come by bus to SMET and then continue the journey by train. That is the reason why Talaguppa train gets filled up first.

SagarJambagaru~ 375 blog postsA small portion of single line between Kardi and Banasandra (around 10 KMs) (in between Tumkur and Tiptur) is doubled and ready for trains to use the new line. The CRS inspection was supposed to take place on 22nd Feb.2020 as per paper notification. I travelled yesterday from Shivamogga to YPR by 3.30 PM SMET YPR Express and observed that the remaining portion i.e., Gubbi to Banasandra will also be finished very soon.

What about the Hubli Bengaluru Line. No mention about this Line atleast upto Chickjajur Jn. Will it not come under Hubli Dn? Is it Mysore Division/Bengaluru Division?

Effectively Making It Daily
Much needed rail service between SMET and YPR as earlier, the afternoon train to the capital city from SMET was only for 3 days of the week i.e., Sat, Sun and Monday. Now it has become a daily train. I am sure this train will have very good patronage at both ends as there was no train to Shivamogga after the morning 6.30 passenger till 3.00 PM SBC TLGP Inter City.
The four days of the week when the new Tatkal special will run will be on Tue, Wed, Thu, and Friday and not as mentioned by Entry 4544911. The earlier tri weekly was there on Sat, Sunday and Monday and to make it a daIly train the Tatkal Special is introduced.

Sir, the fare difference is just Rs.20/-. Moreover, once it is regularised, the fare will be brought at par with other express trains running on this route i.e., minus tatkal fare, I hope.
